Poor Macy. She and Cassie were both chasing after a shanked pass yesterday and collided. Cassie has bruised ribs and Macy, well, it appears she has broken her left hand as well as her wrist. She woke up this morning with a lot of pain and swelling. I took her to the urgent care (no "interesting" people this time!) and they x-ray'ed her. The doctor is "pretty sure she has multiple fractures" but wants the radiologist and orthopedic specialist to take a look as well. She is wrapped up in a soft cast with a sling. The doc gave her prescriptions for pain and she is now sleeping until we head over to the convention center.
There are no words for how disappointed she is and I am so sad for her! She will once again stand on the sidelines and cheer for our team, but we will sure miss her on the court. So, that is where we are today - off to play at 4:45. Please say a prayer for some victories today - our girlies could use the boost!
Updates later.
Keeping up with SVVC's 15-Katie's team on their journey to 2011 Festival in Phoenix, Arizona!

12:28 - in the AM
Too early? Too late?
Quick update - unfortunately lost all our matches today - most of the girls had tears at one point or another tonight. The are so tired and sore and banged up and they are so frustrated that they are trying so hard and not winning. Right now we are ranked #95 out of 96 teams, discouraging.
I told each one of them to have their pity party tonight, because it really does suck to lose, but tomorrow is a new day, and there is really no where to go but up (as long as we don't play the #96 team...)
Coach Katie is amazing! Today, she kept the girls to give me a break. She always has a smile on her face, even when we lose and she continues to praise the girls for their effort while coaching them on how to improve. What a blessing she is!
Macy hurt her hand tonight diving into Cassie who has bruised ribs from Macy's hand. So guess what? Tomorrow morning bright and early, we are off the radiology center to get x-rays! At least I know where it is now...
The trainers here are wonderful and they love our girls! They always come to watch them play. They love how hard the girls are going after the ball and how sweet they are. Isn't it great that even total strangers can sense what unique and special girls they are?
More photos are uploading - I am now taking shots in the training center cuz I spend A LOT of time there! They know me by name...sad to say...
Updates tomorrow as we learn about Macy's hand. Say a prayer for a bad sprain and no fractures!
Goodnight
