The Last Night!

Sorry eveyone! My phone died and we are just settling in for the night.  We have to move out first thing in the morning, so it has been a bit of a whirlwind around here!

First:  A Macy update -

The orthopedic surgeon reviewed her x rays tonight and said a few things:

1.  She has broken her hand and wrist in 3 places
2.  She will make a complete recovery in 4-5 weeks
3.  He has seen hundreds of breaks and fractures and hers are the most unique he has ever seen!
4.  He has saved a copy of her films to use as teaching tools for his med students!
5.  She must be one tough cookie because the pain must have been significant (Macy agreed with him - on both counts!)

So anyway, she is on prescription pain killer which is really helping and when she gets home, she will see her ortho and get a permanent cast put on  once the swelling goes down.

One of the trainers made a helpful observation:  Bad things happen in 3's so now she is done!  I can't help but think:

ok:  1.  Alex sick
        2.  Alex hurt
        3.  Macy hurt

Does that mean I am all done?  I sure hope so!

Ok, enough about that...

tonight, we played 3 matches - we finally won the first!  Yippee Yahoo - you will see from the pictures that the girls were very excited about that!

We lost the last 2 matches in 3 games, so there was some definite success there and I think they are feeling better tonight.

I had the girls delivered to the convention center this afternoon in pedicabs - the bicycle trailer things.  The drivers were hilarious and it was alot of fun.  I told the girls they were going to "save all their energy for the court" and they did!

When we got back to the cafeteria, SVVC  was having a whole club meeting.  Guess what?  Our precious Coach Katie won the Coach of the Year Award!  Our team was also recognized as the Winninest Team for all of SVVC - that means we won more matches than any other team at SVVC!!

Really, that is impressive, right?  So the girls should be proud even tho our performance this week has been less than stellar.

So tomorrow night, we come home.  I will havethe girls call you to give you an idea of the time.

Have a great night!
